As executive director at Mercy Medicine Free Clinic, I continue to be amazed at the generosity of the businesses and citizens of Florence and the surrounding area in giving to those less fortunate.
This year HillSouth approached Mercy Medicine Free Clinic with the opportunity to upgrade our technology and literally has placed us into the 21st century, technologically speaking. Mercy is deeply grateful and appreciative for their many hours of labor and knowledge used to benefit this organization and their continued ongoing technological support as needs arise.
On a small budget, Mercy tries to make each dollar spent to reach a much larger span in significant services provided while putting on the back burner other needs too expensive to obtain at the time as we maintain our services. This upgrade has allowed Mercy to pursue a more detailed software (Athena) for our electronic medical records for needed data collection, which will be majorly significant in the writing of grants and reports of the quality patient care given.
HillSouth made sure we were on a high-speed internet to accommodate the new processes, so Mercy changed to Spectrum Business internet services. HillSouth placed our server in a locked cage, which modern technology recommends. As a result of their many faithful service volunteer hours and supportive efforts, HillSouth has installed on all of Mercy’s computers our newly purchased Microsoft Professional 365 software (purchased with an individual's significant donation).
Mercy has had a website for many years. HillSouth changed our email addresses from gmail to our domain, mercymedicine.org., thus making our email system more secure. HillSouth checked our electronic technology equipment, created shortcuts and put all of our history records, letters and documents in the cloud. Even our telephones have been upgraded to the VIOP phones through Loop Communications.
I want to strongly commend Robby Hill and all of the technological support staff of men and women at HillSouth who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to serve at Mercy Medicine Free Clinic.
